Hello, my name is Kaitlyn. I'm the author of three blogs and an owner of one amazing horse! On my blogs you can find crafts, photo-shoots and so much more! Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon. Bye!
Hey guys! Caitlyn from Salt and Light wrote this amazing post on why she and her family don’t celebrate Halloween. I was going to write a post like this one, but Caitlyn beat me to it!
Many think that Halloween is an innocent holiday, and that it doesn’t matter if you’re a Christian and celebrate it. However, Halloween isn’t all that it seems. In this post I want to explain why my family has never celebrated it, and why it is wrong to celebrate Halloween according to God’s Word. I pray that you will keep an open mind as you read this post, and study God’s Word for yourself to get His take on this! 🙂
What you might not know is just how Halloween started. It’s origins come from about 2,000 years ago when the Celtics celebrated a pagan festival that has now become what we call “Halloween.” They called this day “Samhain.” During this festival, they believed that the dead came alive and that the living could visit with the dead. Hello! The weekend’s almost over, isn’t that sad? But to hopefully cheer you up I took these pictures of my family’s fall Sunday drive that we went on a week ago. And also, happy official fall! It was now officially fall on September 22! Fall is my favorite season, and then after fall comes winter. I can’t wait!
Our first stop for driving around the countryside is to a pumpkin patch, one of my favorite places to visit in fall.
I love that middle pumpkin that’s slanted, it’s so pretty!
But as we drove up onto their driveway, there was a jackrabbit! It was so scared, it stayed sitting for a minute for me to open up the window and take a picture of it, so weird!
Then we stopped at my great uncle and aunt’s farm to check out their horse, and some antique cars.
I love these last few photos, the horse in them was so photogenic.
Are you excited for fall? What’s your favorite thing to do in fall? I’ll try to post again this week, love you all!
If you didn’t know, I love fall. You can get all cozy, drink tea, hot chocolate and it’s just a pretty season! So, to get into the fall spirit I made this adorable fall thingy on this block of wood. And no, I don’t know what to call it.
Supplies you’ll need:
Fall coloured paint
White pencil crayon
A fine black marker
A block of wood
So first, I just painted this block of wood a pumpkin spice colour.
Then I just doodled on it with a fine black marker and a white pencil crayon and wrote “Happy fall YA’LL” on it along with a little fox! It’s super cute and pretty easy to make. And if you make it, you can just customize it how ever you want.
Are you going to make it? What do you think of it? Talk to you all soon, bye!
1 John 5:15 – And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.
Lately, I’ve been asking God for my finances, because paying for a horse isn’t cheap. And the next day, He answered! One time, I got three people asking me to babysit for them in one day and at the end of the week, I made eighty dollars. Just ask Him, talk to Him, and He listens and will reply. Or I just ask Him about random stuff like what a word means, when He gives the answer I check on Google to see if it was me or Him who gave the answer, and He gave me the correct answer! He wants the best for you, you’re His child.
Yes, hello, I’m back. And I’m not leaving you guys for a long time! But summer has ended and fall is right around the corner. But thankfully, I love fall! My mom on the other hand, well, fall comes before winter and she doesn’t like to think about that.
But during this summer we had some new family members come in and we finally got a pool! More on that later. Anyways, the reason these photos of the field are funny looking it’s because there are a lot of forest fires happening right now. So all the smoke travels to where I live.
This is our above ground pool! This is the first picture I took of it and the first day we used it. The water was so cold. I’ll post some updated photos of it soon because we decorated our deck with lights and made a little shelf off of the deck so that there isn’t that big gap between the pool and the deck.
On the first day of August, it was the day that marked one year with Deezle and Percy! They have been amazing horses to us, and I love them so much. But we haven’t been able to ride them yet, because they were more green than green broke, so we’re sending them to a trainer for a month later in September.
This summer, I also got to play with a few of Pinky’s grandkittens! So these are Skittles’ kittens, and Skittles was one of Pinky’s kittens from her last littler. Skittles was also my kitten before we gave them to our neighbours/friends.
Roxie had six puppies on July 21! They are so cute! There are four girls and two boys. And right now, they are so much fun! Updated photos coming soon.
But sadly, we had to sell Bella. She was such a happy dog, but she was very dumb. And that’s putting it nicely. But we also didn’t really try to train her because my dad didn’t have the time. But we sold her to a trainer, and now she has a great home.
I also went to go see Cavalia! It’s an amazing horse show. I’m really happy I went to go see it, thank you Grandma for taking me and Mom! If you want to know more about them, click here – click me! And we also went to a rodeo this summer too! But sadly, I didn’t bring my camera along.
What I’ve all done this summer on my bucket list:
Finish training Deezle and Percy – No. Sadly, that’s why I’m sending them to the trainer.
Go to the beach – Nope. Because we got the pool instead!
Take pictures of fireflies – We had no fireflies this year! It was so sad.
Make some summery crafts – I made fall ones, does that count?
Not spend a single dollar all summer – Yes! I followed this one for me! My wallet is thanking me. But I did have to spend money on the horses, otherwise, they’d be dead.
Do a photo-shoot with my lil’ sister – Yep! But the pictures didn’t turn out great.
Learn how to sew – Sadly, no.
Keep my pumpkins alive – Yep, still living!
Go to a stampede – Yes, it was a lot of fun! I love the barrel racers.
Make doughnut burgers – *cries* No.
Just to let you know, my blogging schedule wont be followed for a while because if you didn’t know, I don’t think I told you guys, but I’m going to be doing a little bit of public school this year. Let me explain, I’m still going to be home-schooled for my high school years but I’m taking one class each semester at out local high school. For this semester I’m doing wood works! So it should be fun. Then the second semester, Home Ec. School comes first when it comes to blogging. But don’t worry, I should still be posting once or twice a week. Also, my fourteenth birthday is on September 1st! So I’ll be doing a post on that pretty soon.
Thank you for not losing hope on me over the summer! Thank you for all your support on this blog, bye!
If you couldn’t tell, I haven’t been posting for a while. I think it’s time for a break. On my other blog, Kaits AG Crafts, I take this break every year. I just don’t enjoy being on a computer in summer, and I don’t like having to think of my blogging schedule. I won’t be gone for very long, maybe late August? I don’t know yet. Thank you all for understanding. ❤ And I might still reply to comments, just not posting. Love you all, have a great summer!
I’m doing a different post than I normally do, but my dad means so much to me that I had to do this post.
Happy Father’s Day Dad! You are amazing. I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it. You’ve picked me up when I’ve fallen, you’ve comforted me in the tough times. You come running when I’m in trouble. And when I’ve messed up, you’ve always forgiven me. You put the rest of the family before you. You make my dreams come true, like getting two horses when we were only getting one. And you can be a little bit of a surprise with some things… Like planning a last minute trip to Cuba. Or taking us to the U.S. over the weekend to a hotel. Even when we’re camping, you don’t want us to miss the Jets game, so you quickly put up a satellite dish attached to a ladder – the photo above. Even the little things like proof reading some of my posts, or telling me what your favorite picture is and how I could improve with my photos. I love you so much Dad, you are amazing.
I hope you had a great Father’s Day with your dad too. 🙂 Bye!
This is a different post than I normally do, but I just have to get it out there. I’m also not meaning to scare anyone with the stuff I’m about to say. But like it says in the Bible,
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
I knew about the devil’s demons. I knew that they can torment you. I knew what games like ouija boards are ways to let the devil into your life. I knew that people could see things like demons and angels. I’ve even seen an angel from God. But I have seen a demon. You don’t want to see demons. They tell you things. They can move things. I’ve heard so many stories like these. But I’ve never had someone in my family with the gift to see them constantly. My little sister can.
Just today my sister told us why she has been sleepwalking everyday and crying. Demons are also the reason she gives my parents such a hard time before bed. She’s just so scared to see those things at night. She never told us about them until today. And to be honest, I was scared. But yet, it was nice to know what I can pray against. Yesterday, she bought herself her very own Bible. So thinking about it, a little girl who sees things not from God gets her first real Bible, no wonder they were so bad last night. But the thing I was scared of the most was what she is seeing. So I gave her a pen and paper and she drew them. She’s seven, but in her drawing you could see how scary they are. I’m not even going to describe them to you guys.
But what is sad, is that she was so scared of them. She never told us because she was scared of what they would do too her. She said she sees them the most in dark areas and by the TV. Which makes sense. But she said while watching TV they would just be walking around right in front of her and she didn’t say anything too us. I’m a safe place for my sister to come, but it just brakes my heart that she didn’t tell me sooner. Although, I get it too. You don’t know what they’ll do to you, but she didn’t know what they were. But what do we have to fear? We have Jesus! He’s way bigger than anything or anyone.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
Why should we live in fear? All we have to do when we’re scared is call on the name of Jesus and pray. So if you see things, tell someone. Let them pray over you, don’t be embarrassed. I just want all of you to be aware of the darkness in this world. We are living on Earth, not Heaven. So these things happen. But now, my sister is fine and we can pray against those things. I’m just so thankful she told us. Be carful what you watch, see and listen too. Love you guys. ❤
Hello! Welcome back to this little friendly blog. 🙂 Today, I’m going to be telling you how I keep Jesus in my every day life. Let’s begin!
I’m pretty sure I sing sometimes more than I talk! I don’t know if I’m a good singer, I don’t think I’m bad, but who cares! I’m using my voice to sing to my savior. Some of my favorite songs to sing too are Even If, Oceans, Children Of God and many more. And when you sing, it also helps you not to be nervous.
I love to pray but to some people it’s a chore. But to me, it’s one of my favorite parts of the day! I don’t even do a full on prayer sometimes, but when I’m doing something and no one’s around, I just talk to Him. And He’s happy to listen. Sometimes when I don’t know the answer to something or I don’t know the meaning of a word I just ask Him what it is and He replies right away!
Read The Bible & Devotions
I have to say, I always love reading my daily devotions! They’re just a great way to grow your relationship with Jesus! The daily devotion book I read from is called, Teen to Teen: 365 Daily Devotions by Teen Girls for Teen Girls. It’s such a great book and if you’re a teen girl and don’t have a daily devotion book, I totally recommend this one! But I have to admit, it’s harder for me to read the Bible if I go on and off. But once I really get into reading it, I’m off!
Speak In Tongues
Speaking in tongues is an amazing thing. I think I might have to do a post about speaking in tongues, but trust me it’s an amazing gift that anyone can receive. Jesus said that speaking in tongues is a supernatural sign that anyone who believes in Him can receive. Speaking in tongues also makes the devil go crazy because I’m speaking a different language that only Jesus, and people who God gave a gift too, can understand. It takes practice to learn how to speak in tongues and you have to be patient, but it’s so rewarding! If you want to learn more about it read, 1 Corinthians 14:2. But I think I’ll do a post about it too in the future.
Again, those are just some of the things I do to stay connected to Him! What do you do to stay connected to Jesus? Talk to you all soon, bye! 🙂 ❤
